Blowing Rocks Preserve
Unusual limestone shelf undercut by tides, the site of Florida’s only sea caves. Visit at low tide to explore caves, or at high tide to see spray spurt out of the rocks. Two miles of trails and beach walking. On Jupiter Island, north of Coral Cove, along A1A north.
Jonathan Dickinson State Park
More than 17 miles of hiking trails, providing excellent opportunities for backpacking to two primitive campsites. Mix of scrub, pine flatwoods, prairies, and hardwood hammocks. Check at ranger station for trail map and camping permit. On US 1 north of Tequesta (just over the Martin County line).
Jupiter Ridge Natural Area
Beautiful windswept dunes of bright white sand look like ski slopes along the Intracoastal Waterway, provide habitat for endangered Florida scrub-jay and gopher tortoise as well as for rare scrub plants. 2.5 miles of trail in 2 hiking loops. On US 1 south of Indiantown Road.
